The darkness at the crucifixion wasn't a metaphor. Secular Romans recorded it too. 🌑✝️
The Gospels say that when Jesus hung on the cross, darkness fell over the whole land from noon until 3 PM. Skeptics always say, "Oh, it was just a solar eclipse." But an eclipse only lasts a few minutes. I just learned that early secular historians—guys who weren't even Christians—wrote about this! A historian named Thallus (writing around 52 AD) tried to explain away this exact darkness. Another named Phlegon recorded a massive darkness and an earthquake during the exact time of Tiberius Caesar. The Romans experienced the blackout. They felt the earth shake. The bottom line is Jesus was crucified on a cross for our sins, not fiction, fact He rose on the third day ,and was seen by many before He ascended into heaven. And He's still touching and saving people today. The Word of God is the true living Word of God.

Scientists have established there was an "eclipse" and is physical evidence of an earthquake that correspond to the time frame of the crucifixion.

So the question is still debated. Even so, much of the story is really a matter of faith. Personally I believe the darkness occurred. What's curious is the fact that no secular Roman documents exist mentioning Jesus or the crucifixion. At least one contemporary author, Gore Vidal in his book "Julian," states that documents did exist in Rome but were removed during the reign of Constantine or his son Constantius.

you can't get no better than that Jesus Christ is real cause I only weigh three pounds in 1971 look at me today back in the '80s I had a year and a month to live look at me today and I ran under a eighteen wheeler and lost three brothers two were murdered One died in a car wreck my mom passed away I held my husband hand when he passed away and Jesus Christ 👑 still got me I believe with every breath in my body and people say he's not real you better recognize I thank you for Jesus Christ and I love you you kept me had mercy on me 🙏🌸 Jesus Christ has the last say so 👑🤲🙌🙏💪♥️

According to minority views, that Thallos mentioned Jesus is an erroneous inference by ninth-century chronologer Syncellus who misinterpreted both Africanus and Phlegon.[7] As well as astronomical calculations, indicating any claims of total solar eclipses occurring from 23-43 CE in Jerusalem during Passover being entirely fictional. The darkness mentioned can be a literary device to emphasize cosmic significance, which was common in Greco-Roman and Jewish literature.[16] R. T. France, states that these words of Thallus cannot be known as they were not quoted, but transmitted through Julius Africanus.
