Water baptism is outward. It involves the body. But being washed on the inside is deeper. That is the cleansing of the heart, mind, conscience, and inner life by the Spirit of God. A person can go into water as a public act, and still come out carrying pride, unforgiveness, rebellion, lust, bitterness, false religion, or an unchanged heart. That does not make water baptism meaningless. It means the outside sign was never supposed to replace inner cleansing. The problem is that church systems often put heavy focus on the outward act, while barely talking about true repentance, surrender, deliverance, obedience, and inward transformation. Getting in water is easy. Dying to self is not. But that inward washing is what God is after. The outside can be dipped while the inside is still untouched. Real cleansing starts within. God is not after a wet body. He is after a clean heart. #WashedWithin #CleanHeart #TruthOverDeception #RepentanceAndSurrender #InnerCleansing
