Daniel provided us with an accurate prediction of the time when Christ would be crucified, along with the destruction of the temple and the city of Jerusalem. However, we still cannot pinpoint an exact date for his birth, crucifixion, or the destruction of the Temple and Jerusalem. This is because the AD/BC system is flawed. It was not put in place until about 400 years after Christ. Time was calculated but who was ruling at the time and what year of their rule. Therefore, we must recognize the signs of these events rather than using the AD/BC system for the date of the actual occurrence. Daniel sought to understand from the Lord when Israel would be delivered from Babylonian captivity. Jeremiah prophesied that Israel would be delivered in 70 years. However, without understanding the meaning of the seventy years, Daniel sought further clarification from the Lord concerning Israel’s deliverance. The Angel revealed that the seventy years were equivalent to seventy weeks, with each week representing seven years. This means that the prophecy concerning Israel’s deliverance spanned a total of 490 years. Daniel was shown that the seventy weeks would be divided into three distinct periods. The first seven weeks were dedicated to the construction of the temple that stood during the time of Christ. The second division consisted of sixty-two weeks, which were allocated to the building of Jerusalem. It was prophesied that after the completion of the sixty-two weeks, Christ would come, be crucified, and the temple and city would be destroyed. The third division was the final week, during which the daily sacrifice would be taken away, and the abomination that causes desolation would be established. This week is believed to commence at the seventh trumpet in Revelation. By knowing that after the 69 weeks were fulfilled it left just on week left. The last seven years.
