Ezekiel 36:26 God says 'I will.. sprinkle clean water upon you and you shall be clean. He says '1 will' take away your stony heart and give vou a heart of flesh. God says 'I will' put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statues. He says '1 will' save you and be your Provider. '1 will' multiply the fruit of the tree and the increase of the field. As in the davs of Ezra, the people would remember their sin and be brought low. Scripture describes the heart of flesh earnestly remembering their abominable deeds, loathing themselves in their own sight for their sin. This restoration His Grace was poured out on His children not because of anything they had done, but because of who He is. "Not for your sake do I do this. savs the Lord"... but so that the nations that are left would know His Strenath and Power. Thev would also see His Grace and Mercy, Forgiveness, Healing Restoration... and a Love, unmatched unfailing, and unconditional. When ourhearts are as stone. thev're closed off to His perfect grace and mercy. But a heart of flesh, filled with His Spirit, declared clean by no effort of our own is humble, repentant.. desiring to... choosing to be obedient to the One we know as Lord. In soaking in the prophecies of Ezekiel we see an unmistakable repetition of the words '1 will' Each one holds a promise. '1 will' is repeated over 4000 times throughout scripture, signifying an important thread from the beginning to the end. In Ezekiel, '1 will' is followed by '...so that you/they will know that I am Lord.' it begins with His promise, 'I will', planting in us a clean, new heart, ready for His Spirit. He promises we'l know conviction, we'll see our sin, we'll surrender. our hearts to Him...He alone is able to save us from all our uncleanness What's our response to His outstretched... nail scarred hand?
