Robin’s 5:6 ‘But God…’. His Love and His Grace existed before we did. Is it even imaginable that He would choose to create something, give it life and free will knowing that ‘it’ may reject Him? Does it surprise Him that some of us are stiffnecked, stubborn, and rebellious? Not wanting to lose even one, He chose to reveal Himself in the Light of Truth…piercing the darkness that ruled this world. And yet, still, some of us choose to remain in the darkness with a false sense that we’re in control. It’s true, we’re either slaves to sin or slaves to righteousness. The Deceiver, the enemy of our souls, would have us believe that our battles are…blurrier. But God… reaches down from heaven, touching the sinner’s heart, having chosen him to receive the Good News. Life-changing news of a Kinsman Redeemer Who paid our ransom. Did we even realize we were being held hostage? The hidden truth was… is… there is a God and we’re not Him. Did we finally get it, we don’t chart our own course and our flesh, in itself, a miracle, is merely a tent that carries our spirit in this world? Born into a fallen world, we all started out as sinners desperately in need of a Savior. Our birth is when the battle begins between the flesh and the spirit. His atoning sacrifice was His plan from the beginning, not that we would clean up before accepting Him, but that we would accept Him and He would clean us up… making us righteous through the blood of Jesus. While we were yet sinners, He died for us… we were stained with sin, unlovely… If we really let that sink in, humility plots a course that leads from the cross to the Throne of Grace. Grateful, and without words to express it, we bow before Him, washed clean, and made new… Praise You Lord, You alone are worthy of all the honor and the glory, the power and dominion… Forever.
