I’ve been feeling completely invisible lately. Unappreciated, overlooked, and just used by the people around me. I kind of broke down in my car today. To find comfort, I opened my Bible app and ended up reading about Hagar. She was a foreign slave, abused by Sarah, used by Abraham, and then discarded into the deadly desert when things got messy. She was the lowest of the low in that society—a nobody. But God literally tracked her down in the wilderness. He didn't send an angel; the Angel of the Lord met her personally. And she becomes the ONLY person in the entire Bible to give God a name: El Roi (The God who sees me). God didn't reveal this beautiful, intimate title to a king or a high priest. He gave it to a broken, abused, pregnant runaway in the middle of a wasteland. If you feel like nobody sees your pain, He does.
