I remember the “scratchy” speakers. Also my mom would make popcorn before we left home to save money. We would play on the swings in our PJs before the movie started. My parents folded down the seats in the back of the station wagon where we kids watched the movie lying on pillows & blankets and yes fell asleep. This was back before seatbelts, so we rode home back there.
