Yesterday we gathered around to watch the PBS show for the beginning of the festivities. When the National Anthem was sung, both granddad and great granddad stood proudly in salute as the singer began her rendition of the song. They both tried hard to sing along, but her ahaa and ieea made it impossible to sing. The audience was panned showing other old soldiers, some struggling to stand and sing . To me it was sad to see them trying to sing along, standing with pride! Why in the world CAN’T powers that be, choose SOMEONE who can JUST SING the song the way it was intended to be sung? Later at the family bar b que, we all sang the song as it should be sung in honor for all those who lived and died so all of us can live free! God Bless America !
