Proverbs 9:10 Wisdom…insight and understanding…all key elements in knowing the One Who’s ‘got us’. The One Who’s Sovereign and Holy, the One Who’s Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient. The One Who loves us to the cross and back. Solomon instructs us to begin at the beginning. While our salvation begins with acknowledging Jesus as Lord and Savior, Wisdom and insight and understanding come through a close relationship with Him. Walking in the Spirit, craving His presence and surrendering to His will. The beginning, the reverent and worshipful fear the Lord, isn’t a suggestion, it’s a necessity. So…are we familiar with the watered down version of reverent and worshipful fear? The kind where we slow down enough to say a few words, then get up and go on with our day? Or do we carve out time, calling it ‘precious’, understanding how desperate our spirit is for refreshment and restoration? What is reverent and worshipful fear? Is it standing before Him in Humility, surrendering our hearts to our Creator? And is it a complete surrender, or are we holding back something for ourselves? Is it acknowledging His power and Dominion and glory? Can we ‘see’ the throne of Grace? Are we positioned to ask for His Wisdom, do we have ears to ‘hear’, because we’ll have to be quiet and patient to receive it. Is reverent and wishful fear acknowledging He’s God and we’re not? Do we consider ourselves as bond slaves, believers who choose to be marked as servants of the Lord? We press in, craving more of Him, receiving His Wisdom and knowledge of Him. Wisdom comes through worshipful fear, insight and understanding come through knowing Him. No matter how many years it’s been from the date we were born again, we still require more insight and understanding. Just when we start thinking there’s no more to learn, He reveals another piece of Himself… if we’re paying attention, If we’re ‘hearing’ and ‘seeing’ in the spirit, ready to receive what He has to show us how to go deeper still
