A man convicted in the 2017 murder of a wheelchair user during a failed carjacking outside a Country Club Hills movie theater has been sentenced to 85 years in prison. Prosecutors said the victim was shot and killed after the suspects couldn't operate his specially equipped vehicle. While awaiting trial, the defendant was twice accused of possessing firearms while on electronic monitoring. Court records show he must serve the full murder sentence and is currently projected to remain behind bars until Christmas Eve of 2096, when he would be 103 years old.
