For all the flooding and alarms, the siren alarm system may work as the storm is hitting; but people need to look for the signs 2-3 days before storms and flooding occurs. Nature, has a way of alarming. Crazy ants and other insects will be seen 2-3 days before heading for higher ground. Normally, nobody pays attention to the ants or bugs. Pop bugs (normally seen rolling their poo they find along the way) Snakes will or could turn belly up (we had outhouses and find live snakes belly up on the steps into the outhouse) and crows will start to squeak several hours and days before of impending flood storms. Don’t wait to have the river start rising, before you either get to higher ground and don’t go out into the road unless absolutely an emergency.
