1 Corinthians 10:13 There’s power in the name of Jesus. The Joy of the Lord is our Strength. When we pass through the water, He’s with us, and if we’re in the fire, we’ll not be scorched… He says to us ‘you are Mine!’. The power and strength to overcome, to be victorious when tempted comes from Him and Him alone. Paul writes to the church in Corinth “Therefore let anyone who thinks he stands, who feels sure that he has a steadfast mind and is standing firm, take heed lest he fall into sin“. When we say “I got this!”, are we ready to go it alone? If we were to unmask the one who speaks those words in our heart, we would see a deceiving spirit, a spirit of Pride. Societies may seem to advance with the ages, but temptation and trial, enticements to sin aren’t new. The enemy will never stop trying to draw us away from God. Same deceit, maybe a with few subtle changes or adjustments, have toppled pillars in our Christian community. Temptation giving way to sin is like a stone thrown into a pond, with water rippling out toward the bank. The one who tries to face temptation alone, stands naked on the battlefield. He misses out on God being Faithful and True. He won’t let us be tempted beyond our ability to endure and always provides a way out, that we would have what we need to be strong and powerful, bearing up under it…patiently. Living in a fallen world comes with a promise, we will face trials and temptation, pain and suffering, but… By the Grace of God, Him in us and us in Him…we have the power and the strength to patiently endure in righteousness. Lord help us to know the reality of being in the palm of Your hand…In Your Grip…
