Genesis 1:3 “In the beginning, God prepared, formed, fashioned, and created the heavens and the Earth. The Earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving, hovering, brewing over the face of the waters, and God said, Let there be light…” … and it was so. An event marking the beginning of time and matter as we know it. What was before and what it will be at the end of the age is unknown. The greatest of minds offer speculation but we choose to wait upon the Lord. What we now know in part will be made known in full in the His timing. We trust in Him, knowing He will make things clear. For now, our focus is on the power of His Word as it brought everything into existence. He spoke the Light…And everything after it, into being. Light and Life appear at His command. John explains “In the beginning, before all time, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the word was God Himself.” And “All things were made, and came into existence through Him…“. And “…the Word became flesh and lived a while among us and we actually saw His glory…“. He tells us He is I AM, He reveals His unlimited power and authority over all things. Light obeys His command. Power emanates from Him through His Word. We pull it all together. Nothing separates Him from Who He is, what He says. We move past considering the power that created the heavens and the Earth, and realize that first day was about speaking into existence…creating a light to shine in the darkness. What is the purpose of the Light if not to chase away the darkness, if not to reveal hidden things, if not to bring forth life and growth? While this light separates day from night, we begin to compare it to the spiritual realm and what we know about the importance of the Light, how much we need it, Who the Light is and the power it has to keep us from walking in darkness. Light, do we crave it? Do we follow it? Do we use it as a guide in keeping us out of the
