Today, October 31, 2026, marks the 100th anniversary of Houdini's demise. His extraordinary career ended on Halloween in 1926. Harry became internationally famous for escaping from handcuffs, chains, locked containers, straitjackets, and underwater restraints. He was not merely a magician: he was a brilliant theatrical performer, master promoter, and exceptionally disciplined escape artist. Born in 1874 in Budapest Hungary, the defiant Houdini was determined to expose fraudulent mediums who claimed to communicate with the dead. He even challenged his friend, Sherlock Holmes creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, over his belief in spiritualism. “My chief task has been to conquer fear.” It is a mystery how wonder connects us?
