1 Chronicles 16:24 “So they brought the Ark of God and set it in the midst of the tent which David had pitched for it, and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God…”. David declares “O give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; make known His doings among the peoples. Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; meditate on and talk of all His wonders works and devoutly praise them! Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!” There was cause for celebration, the Ark of the covenant had come home. The Mercy Seat, the place where God tabernacled with His people was ‘home’ to the city of David. They were not to sit on their hands in contentment, but rather they were to sing with the purpose of making God known to all nations. They were to be witnesses and speakers and singers of the truth. They were to declare His glory and His marvelous works and announce that He is to be reverently feared, above all so-called gods, for all the gods of the people are lifeless idols. He created all things. Honor, and majesty are found in His presence, strength and joy are found in His sanctuary, and He is good, His mercy and loving kindness, endure forever! Oh, that we would be overcome, overwhelmed, passionate to praise and worship God as David did on that day! He was Encouraging, motivating Israel to spread the Word… David’s motivational ‘speech’, with words of praise and honor and glory to God, flowing from his heart and off his tongue reach our ears. Let the words we hear move our hearts to do what Israel did on that day, let us welcome God into our ‘home’, and make sure He’s comfortable. Let our heart be filled with praise and honor and worship, acknowledging our strength and joy comes from Him! Let those around us know Who our God and our King is because we openly sing His praises. Let there be no question as to Who we serve and why. In love, Lord, help us to embrace a heart of praise with passion, trusting You to accomplish the purpose Yo
