I went to a boarding school that looked exactly like this back in the 90s, and it's so hard to explain what that was like. On the one hand, it was incredibly beautiful. We had horse stables and a rifle range. I studied genetics and rocketry and sang in a 150-year-old chapel with an enormous pipe organ. It felt like a utopia. But there was also a really dark side. I was beaten for stepping out of line, not just by the masters but by the older students too.
