Dealing with Backstabbing Colleagues After Promotion​

My colleague and I joined the company at the same time, and we got along pretty well initially. However, his work performance couldn't compare to mine, and he made several mistakes along the way. After I was promoted, I discovered he was spreading rumors about me behind my back, fabricating stories that were completely untrue.
