🔥🕊️ Unsolved Arson Tragedy 🕊️🔥 More than 30 years later, Baltimore County Maryland police are still investigating a deadly arson that claimed the lives of a young mother and her daughter in Essex. In May of 1992, a deliberately set fire ripped through an apartment building on Hadwick Drive after flammable liquid was ignited in the basement stairwell. Eight year old Victoria Gericke and her 30 year old mother, Mary Lee Gericke, who lived on the second floor, died from smoke inhalation. The blaze caused over $500,000 in damage, sent at least 10 people to the hospital with burns or injuries from jumping to escape, and forced residents to flee as bystanders rushed in to help. Over the years, investigators have followed numerous leads and conducted many interviews, including renewed efforts recently, but no viable suspect has been identified, and it remains unclear who the intended target was. Police are now asking the public for information and assistance, including help obtaining a photo of Mary Gericke. Anyone with information is urged to contact Baltimore County Police at 410-887-3943. #MarlandMurder #Unsolved #bmorenews #Baltimore #UnsolvedCase #MurderMystery
