Bay Area | Plum Blossoms, Cherry Blossoms, Canola Flowers

Turns into a hardworking little bee 🐝 with the arrival of spring. 📍 Rancho San Ramon Community Park (Pic 124) Originally intended to take pictures by the roadside, looking for parking. Accidentally discovered that the slopes of this park are full of cherries. However, they only bloomed at the base when I went last week, not yet in full bloom. The first picture was taken in this park. Walked for about 5 min, crossed a road to get there (details in pic 2, top right). 🌸The roadside is full of beautiful plum blossoms, which are crossbreeds of cherry and plum, double-petal, with a longer blooming period. I estimate that the peak blooming period should be in about 2 weeks. There are canola flowers on the mountainside, but they are quite tall, just admire them from below. ✅ Fewer people and more trees in this area, great for portrait photography 📷 👎 A bit of nature's odor (cow💩? ) because it's by the mountains. Plus, you need to walk some distance where you might get sunburnt during sunny times. . 📍Diablo Valley College San Ramon (Pic 56) There are also beautiful plums here (based on the photos) The wind is strong and the tree is small, so support rods are inserted for each. ✅ You can park at school, just a few steps away 👎 It's crowded and windy . 📍 11440 Windemere Pkwy, San Ramon, CA 94582 (Pic 7) This is a residential area with cherry blossoms. The blossoming condition varies, need to find the right angle to shoot. ✅ There's a Walgreens parking lot nearby, no need to walk far, less crowded 👎 Flowers are not that many and dense . 📍Oracle Pleasanton campus (Pic 9) Cherry blossom + Canola flowers After missing a freeway exit, stumbled upon this spot to admire the flowers. The cherry hasn't bloomed yet, probably will in a week or two ✅ Absolutely no people, easy parking 👎 Cherry blossoms are not yet in full bloom . The above pros and cons are my own subjective thoughts, they're for your reference only ~ #BayArea #PlumBlossoms #CherryBlossoms #CanolaFlowers #SpringArrival #RanchoSanRamonCommunityPark #DiabloValleyCollegeSanRamon #WindemereParkway #OraclePleasantonCampus

Bay Area | Lavender Farm Picks

In a blink of an eye, it's already June, the month lavender blossoms 💜 . There are many places around the Bay Area to enjoy lavender. Among many farms, I've selected a few perfect for sightseeing and photo-taking. Monte-Bellaria di California (Pictures 1-4,9) 3518 Bloomfield Rd, Sebastopol, CA What's special is that the lavender field is on a hillside, making the entire backdrop of your photos a sea of lavender. 💡 Tickets are now available on the official website! 💰 $20 per person, extended to 75 minutes⬆️ More time for photos 📅 The peak bloom period is usually late June or early July. Try to visit on a sunny day for more vibrant flowers. ❗️Try to arrive early! There might be a wait for parking. Once it's time, you have to leave even if you were late. ⏰ There are no specific recommended times, as most are during direct sunlight. 👒 In such case, it's recommended to wear a cute straw hat as a prop or take photos against the light. Hats also provide sun protection. There's a small shop on the farm selling lavender products. For example, lavender hand wash, lavender honey (I bought this and highly recommend it!). ❗️I strongly recommend buying a bouquet of lavender flowers from the shop. It's a good prop for photos, and you can take it home and enjoy the fragrance for a long time. 📷 Photography tips: Most people take photos in the aisle closest to the entrance or on the small platform after the staff's introduction. ❗️ But you can walk a few more steps to the furthest uphill aisle from the entrance. Fewer people and more flowers make for better shots. (Pictures 5-8) 🆓 The farm is exquisite. I love that there are shady trees to rest under when it's too sunny. The flower field is open 24 hours for free. ❕ Lavender is in full bloom, great for flower appreciation this weekend. 🛖 The signature building is a cute little warehouse. They also host weddings and other events here. You can take photos from different angles in the flower field. #BayArea #LavenderFarm #MonteBellariaDiCalifornia #LavenderBlossoms #PhotographyTips #LavenderProducts #FlowerAppreciation #WeddingVenue

SF | 'I Don't Live in Seasons' 🍉

I had previously heard people explain their love for SF and the Bay Area by the fact that they can choose to experience different seasons there. In New York, you live through the changing seasons. In contrast, in the Bay Area, you can decide on the change in temperature. 'I don't live in seasons, I visit seasons' - What an interesting perspective shift! Last weekend, I visited East Bay and truly experienced summer heat 🔥. Then, returning to San Francisco was a consistent 18 degrees Celsius with intermittent cool breezes. But heading further south to the Peninsula, it was a slightly warmer 20-something degrees. For those in the Bay Area enduring the intense summer heat, why not head into the city a few times to cool off this weekend? 🧊 P.S. Check out P2 Salesforce Park Andy Town Coffee ☕️ #SF #BayArea #Seasons #TemperatureChange #PerspectiveShift #SummerHeat #CoolBreezes #IntenseHeat

Wait! Real Texas Barbecue in the Bay Area!!

🍖Horn Barbecue 📍 2534 Mandela Parkway, Oakland, CA 94607 ▫️Since I previously went to Texas and couldn't stop thinking about the barbecue, I was thrilled to find a more authentic Texas barbecue place in the Bay Area. 🥰 Let's hurry and give it a try! ▫️They opened at 11 AM and by 11:15 AM, there was already a long line. The line moved quite slowly, with about 5-10 minutes per group. Only two groups were allowed in at a time, and we waited for about half an hour. ▫️Unfortunately, they had run out of ribs today 😭😭😭, but it was a pleasant surprise to discover that their cornbread was absolutely delicious!! #BayAreaWeekendPlans #BayAreaLiving #BayArea #Barbecue #Foodie #FoodRecommendation #FoodDiary #WeekendPlans #TexasBarbecue #BayAreaCuisine

Revisit Guilin Rice Noodles House for their new dish‼️

🍜 Guilin Rice Noodles House 📍 901 Taraval St, San Francisco, CA 94116 · ▫️ On this side of T Street, there is truly an endless variety of delicious food. Small pot rice noodles, my favorite milk tea Teazo, Xinjiang big plate chicken, various handmade dumplings, and a wide range of Asian cuisines. It's a foodie paradise. During the pandemic, I always ordered takeout from this noodle shop, but finally, this time I dined in, but... · ▫️ Is it just me, or have they reduced the amount of ingredients in this dry mixed rice noodle I usually get?! I was initially shocked 🤯 I remember there used to be a lot of ingredients, but now it's just a few scattered slices of meat with nothing else. · ▫️ On the other hand, my friend ordered the 'Nanning Lao You Fen' and it looks really good. The small clay pot is full of ingredients and looks delicious! The soup is also warm and tasty, with a good flavor! It seems like I'll be going for the Lao You Fen next time. · ▫️ Their menu is indeed not extensive, and they don't have many fancy side dishes. I just ordered a cold wood ear mushroom salad, which was quite salty, and it didn't go well with the plain rice noodles, but it was quite suitable. #WhereToGoInBayArea #BayAreaLife #BayArea #GuilinRiceNoodles #GuilinCuisine #RiceNoodles #Foodie #FoodieLife #BayAreaCuisine

You need to try this Cheese 🧀 Spinach Ramen 🍜in SF

🍜 Hinodeya Ramen Bar 📍 1737 Buchanan St, San Francisco, CA 94115 ▫️ When it first opened, it was very popular, and even now there is still a queue on weekends at this good ramen restaurant. This time, revisiting Japantown in San Francisco, I didn't forget to have a bowl of noodles while shopping. ▫️ You can add yourself to the waitlist on Yelp in advance to save time. There are still quite a few people on weekends, so you may need to wait for about 30 minutes to 45 minutes. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but I suggest sitting indoors as it's a bit cold outside. ▫️ I saw that they had a limited edition matcha beer! If you're interested and like beer, you might want to give it a try, but I didn't get to try it this time. ▫️ You can order using your phone by scanning the QR code, but the menu options aren't extensive. ▫️ Cheese Ramen I chose a seasonal limited edition and saw the thick layer of cheese. Perfect combination! I must try it. I chose spinach noodles, but they also have regular ones. You can also add or reduce toppings according to your preference. The cheese is melted on top of the noodles, and someone will come to wipe it off for you. How much cheese you want depends on your own preference. With the rich flavor of cheese, the ramen is delicious. ▫️ We also ordered a chicken broth-based ramen, which was just average, nothing outstanding or disappointing. The broth had a rich flavor, and the portion was generous. ▫️ I recommend the octopus takoyaki as a side dish. It saves you from queuing up inside the mall. The vegetable dumplings are also good, but the sauce on the side is a bit awkward. Personally, I don't like the sauce, but the dumplings are fine on their own. ▫️ Personally, I think this place cooks their noodles a bit too lightly, and the texture is slightly firm. It's actually better to take it home and cook it again. #BayAreaLife #WhereToGoInBayAreaOnWeekends #BayArea #BayAreaFood #Food #Cheese #CheeseLover #TrendingFoodOnLittleRedBook #CheeseIsPower #CheeseRamen

"Bay Area Japanese Cuisine | Promoted to the Best SF Omakase in My Heart 🍣!"

Bay Area Japanese Cuisine - An Unforgettable Omakase Experience 🍣 Just before the end of January, I went on a delightful Omakase adventure in San Francisco with my friends. We stumbled upon Bay Area Japanese Cuisine and it turned out to be an absolute gem! The chef was not only incredibly talented but also chatty, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable 😊. I later found out that the owner and chef of Wanqu Japanese Cuisine is also behind the popular Niku Steakhouse and Dumpling Time. Talk about a culinary powerhouse! 🙌 A Culinary Masterclass 🍱 During our meal, the owner was generous enough to share some fascinating insights into Japanese cuisine. I learned some valuable tips and tricks that I can apply when cooking Japanese food at home. It was a truly enriching experience 🥳. What surprised me even more was learning that many renowned Omakase chefs in the Bay Area had apprenticed at Wanqu Japanese Cuisine at some point in their careers. It's no wonder the quality of the food here is exceptional! Five-Star Dining Experience ✨ The overall dining experience at Wanqu Japanese Cuisine deserves a solid five-star rating. Here's why: - Each dish was meticulously crafted, showcasing the chef's dedication and passion for Japanese cuisine. - The fish used in the nigiri was of exceptional quality, resulting in fresh and flavorful bites. - The menu is regularly updated, offering not only nigiri but also a variety of delicious cooked dishes. - In my opinion, Wanqu Japanese Cuisine easily ranks in the top three among all the Omakase experiences I've had. Unforgettable Highlights 🤩 There were a few nigiri that left a lasting impression on me: - The amaebi (sweet shrimp) was incredibly fresh and sweet, with a firm texture. The chef even turned the shrimp heads into crispy tempura! 🍤 - The Nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) had a rich, fatty flavor that was intensified by a quick sear. The aroma was captivating! - The Hokkaido sea urchin was a real treat. Each piece was small but generously portioned. The taste was delightfully sweet, and the chef even shared some interesting trivia about sea urchins from around the world. Must-Try Dishes Beyond Nigiri 🍚 Apart from the nigiri, there were two standout dishes that I highly recommend: - The chawanmushi, a savory egg custard, was elevated to new heights with the addition of Japanese snow crab and black truffle. It was a fragrant and luxurious delight! ❤️ - The lobster tamagoyaki (rolled omelette) was a revelation. With its caramelized, crunchy exterior and a luscious and tender interior, it was the best tamagoyaki I've ever tasted. The subtle sweetness of the lobster was the icing on the cake! Details and Future Plans 📍 If you're in San Francisco and craving an unforgettable Omakase experience, make sure to visit Wanqu Japanese Cuisine. You can find them at 665 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94103. Trust me, it's worth a second visit! 😍 #JapaneseCuisine #OmakaseExperience #SFFoodie #JapaneseFood #FoodAdventure #SushiLovers #FoodieFinds #SanFranciscoEats #FoodGems #BayArea
