Presque Isle’s Beach 11 closed all summer

Beach 11 at Presque Isle is off-limits for swimming for the rest of the season because E. coli levels just wouldn’t drop. The shallow water, lack of waves, and a big goose population made things worse, especially with July’s heat. Even though daily water tests were done, once the average bacteria count got too high, there was no turning back. Lifeguards have moved to other beaches, so if you’re heading out, check out the other swimming spots at the park.
