Almost a year of waiting for my son’s MRI, everything planned perfectly… and then our youngest beagle almost died 🐶💔. She grabbed something off the road—turned out to be a hornet—and collapsed within minutes. Vomiting, unconscious, everything going wrong at once. We rushed her 5 minutes to the vet 🏥, and they saved her life. Now she’s being tested for Addison’s. Meanwhile, my son made it to his MRI on time. My Beagle Has Turned My Home into a Barking Concert😩

I’ve had my Beagle for just over 2 years, and up until recently he was the most mellow, easygoing boy. Then, out of nowhere, it’s like a switch flipped—now he barks at everything. Not just the occasional alert bark, but constant, all day long. Car doors, neighbors walking past, birds, the mail truck, even the fridge humming or shadows on the wall. And at night? He lets out these long, haunting howls that echo through the house and jolt me awake. I’ve tried everything: long walks, extra play, puzzle toys, reward training, ignoring, comforting, blocking windows, even leaving the TV on. Every “Google trick” in the book—nothing sticks. The hardest part is I feel like I’m failing him. I know he’s not barking just to be a pain, but maybe out of stress or something deeper. Still, between no sleep, unhappy neighbors, and my own frayed nerves, I’m burning out. I love him more than anything, but I’m scared I can’t manage this forever. I recently realized that my old neighbor’s dog was a Beagle, and honestly, I had no idea how special she was until now. Oreo was 15 when I met her, still acting like the queen of the house—stubborn, sassy, and full of personality! 🐶 She’d pee on the floor (no shame, just straight-up life) and wasn’t a fan of wearing diapers, but somehow that just made her even more legendary. During walks, she'd wander off, and we’d end up chasing her through bushes like she was in charge of the entire neighborhood. When she got tired, she’d try to escape being carried, only to run back home like a puppy. 😅 She was picky with food, wobbly on her feet, and sometimes I’d check to make sure she was still breathing... but she held on for another year after I moved.
