“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life… But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – Matthew 6:25,33
This verse is often simplified, but the logic is clear: worry doesn’t solve problems, prioritization does. Jesus is not denying needs—He’s redirecting focus. In 1 Kings 17, Elijah meets a widow during a famine. She had just enough flour and oil for one last meal, yet she obeyed God’s instruction to feed Elijah first. That decision defied logic, but it revealed trust. And the result? Her resources did not run out. The principle is consistent: when priority is aligned correctly, provision follows.
Not instantly, not always how you expect—but consistently over time. Most people reverse this order. They try to secure everything first, then think about faith. That creates anxiety. Jesus proposes a different system: focus first on what is eternal, and let the rest organize itself around that. It’s a shift from control to trust.
