Brandon_Lee+FollowWhy do we pretend the Bible doesn't mention fire-breathing monsters? I was reading through the end of Job, where God is reminding Job of His raw power. Pastors usually tell us the "Leviathan" mentioned in chapter 41 is just poetic imagery for a crocodile. But read the actual text! It explicitly says its sneezes flash forth light, and flames literally stream from its mouth. Its flesh is like impenetrable armor. God is describing a literal, terrifying apex predator-essentially a dragon- that existed alongside early man, one that only the Creator could tame. We try to domesticate the Bible to fit modern sensibilities, but the ancient world was full of awe and terror. Remembering that our God holds monstrous, chaotic beasts on a leash gives me an entirely new level of peace about my own problems today. #Leviathan #BookOfJob #BibleMysteries #BiblicalHistory174Share

Sara Manrique+FollowStop picturing Satan ruling in Hell Read Job 1) I was reading Job 1 and somethina terrified me. We always picture Satan ruling in Hell with a pitchfork, completely separated from God. But in Job, the angels present themselves before God, and Satan iust... walks in with them. Like he has a backstage pass to the throne room! He is literally called "the accuser,' standing there pointing out our flaws to the Judge It made me realize that Hell isn't Satan's <inqdom-it's his future prison. Right now, he is a roaming prosecutor. Thank God we have Jesus stepping in as our defense attorney, or we wouldn't stand a chance. #SpiritualWarfare #BookOfJob #TheAccuser #BiblicalTruth84Share
