But actually he leaves it out in the sun, and slowly the thing starts relaxing and reshaping itself into an actual bumper. Turns out this is actually normal for some aftermarket bumpers. A lot of them are made from flexible thermoplastics like polypropylene or ABS, and they get shipped rolled up to save on shipping costs. Once they’re warmed up (sunlight works great), they go back to their intended shape. Pro tip though: while this hack works, experts warn that reshaping them the wrong way might create stress points that can crack later on.
