The facts : we have the top WR core in the NFL, in rice,worthy, Schuster, brown , thornton, Kelce,gray, . We have arguably the most dynamic Qb in the league in Patrick Mahomes,. We have the best center in the nfl , in creed, we have a top defensive line with Chris jones and karlaftis, our dbs are outstanding though mcduffie may not return. So what’s the problem, why are we 6-11 ? The fact is our defense is getting worn out . 8
In 2025, the Kansas City Chiefs' defense faced significantly higher time-on-field demands due to a struggling offense, ranking 31st in defensive EPA by late January 2026. While the offense maintained high-efficiency metrics. So there lies part of the problem. In my view , we need to expand our running back room, I love Isiah and Kareem , however, in the all around rb category we fail. Every defense knows, we run and we run up the middle on 2nd down, we pass 1st and 3rd down unless short yards, we fix the problem by getting a RB that is more versatile, that can run ,catch , and play action block. This draws the defensive backs closer to the line allows for our wide receivers to blow by opening the pass game for Patrick, and by having that versatile play action back we cause that hesitation, because now we can run , outside, screen pass, or go deep , oh don’t forget our TE across the middle, 1 versatile RB can create a entire different strategy for defensive backs, in in my opinion that’s our fix.
