We need to talk about the "holy idols" we refuse to let go of in our churches 🛑

I was reading about King Hezekiah today, and it seriously challenged my view on modern church traditions. Back in Numbers, God used a bronze serpent on a pole to miraculously heal the Israelites. It was a legitimate, God-ordained miracle tool. But centuries later in 2 Kings 18, the people had started burning incense to it. They turned a past miracle into a present idol. So what did Hezekiah do? He completely smashed it to pieces. He literally called it "Nehushtan" (just a piece of brass). It made me look at our modern church culture. How many traditions, specific worship styles, or past revival methods are we still bowing down to, long after God has moved on? We cling to the methods of the past instead of seeking the God of the present. Sometimes God has to smash our favorite religious traditions so we can actually see Him again. #ChurchTruth #Idolatry #Hezekiah #SpiritualGrowth #WakeUp

We’ve made the Holy Spirit way too "safe" and polite 🔥

I was reflecting on the early church today, and it hit me how heavily we've sanitized the Holy Spirit. We talk about Him like a warm, fuzzy feeling in our hearts during a slow worship song. But look at Acts 2. When the Spirit arrived, it wasn't a gentle breeze. The text says there was a sound like the roaring of a violent, rushing wind. It was literally the deafening sound of an F5 tornado inside a closed room. And then, actual, visible pillars of fire appeared over people's heads. It was terrifying, loud, chaotic, and completely uncontrollable. I think the modern church is dying of thirst because we want a polite, manageable God. I don't want a "safe" religious experience anymore. I want the roaring, refining fire of the living God. #HolySpirit #Acts2 #Revival #ChurchTruth #UnstoppableGod

My pastor never taught me the real meaning of "lukewarm" (this changes everything) I spent years feeling guilty, thinking God was mad at me because I wasn't running down the church aisles "on fire" with emotion But I ust learned the historical context of Revelation 3, and it blew my mind. Jesus was talking to the church in Laodicea Nearby Hierapolis had hot springs medicinal, healing). Nearby Colossae had cold waters (refreshing, life-giving). But Laodicea's piped-in water was lukewarm-it was utterly useless and literally made people sick Jesus wasn't talking about our emotiona temperature. He was talking about our usefulness. The modern church has confused emotiona hype with spiritual fruit. God doesn't want us performing fake passion; He wants us to be a healing or refreshing force to the broken world around us. #Laodicea #ChurchTruth #BibleHistory #FaithOverHype
