Colorado’s pine beetle battle heats up

Colorado’s forests are facing a serious threat as pine beetles spread from the Western Slope toward the Front Range, putting more trees—and our wildfire risk—on the line. The state just launched a dedicated task force to tackle the problem, and CU Boulder’s Dr. Sammy Ramsey says the beetles’ relationship with our pines goes back thousands of years, but climate shifts are tipping the scales in the beetles’ favor.
