Tamara Jones+FollowAlligator rescue brings smiles to CambridgeAn alligator in the Charles River? That’s what happened in Cambridge, where a quick-thinking local and his girlfriend spotted the little reptile and rallied the community to help. Thanks to their efforts and a wildlife educator, the alligator—now named Charles—is safe and recovering after being abandoned as a pet. It’s a wild reminder that exotic animals don’t belong in our parks or rivers, especially in Boston’s chilly climate. Charles will spend the next year helping educate others before moving to a warmer home. What do you think about people keeping exotic pets in the city? #Science #Cambridge #Community00Share
Cassandra Snyder+FollowThe Derbyshire 'dog' that fooled everyoneDrivers in Derbyshire were convinced they’d spotted an abandoned dog tied up on Chesterfield Road, sparking a flurry of calls to local police. But when officers arrived, the 'dog' in distress turned out to be a plastic reindeer—specifically, Sven from Disney’s Frozen! The police had a good laugh, gave the festive figure a playful warning for being out in November, and left him to 'rest' by the roadside. It’s a reminder that things aren’t always what they seem! Have you ever mistaken something ordinary for something wild? Let’s hear your funniest mix-ups! #Pets #Derbyshire #Community90Share
Joshua Freeman+FollowWhen grief meets neighborhood rulesLosing someone is hard enough without having to fight over their memory. One widow found herself clashing with a neighbor who kept leaving notes on her late husband’s car, demanding it be moved—even though it’s her last real connection to him. The car still holds his coffee cup, sunglasses, and even a grocery list in his handwriting. While the neighbor insists on rules and expired tags, she’s just not ready to let go. It’s a tough reminder that grief doesn’t follow a schedule, and sometimes, what looks like ‘just a car’ is so much more. How do you balance personal loss with community expectations? #Relationships #grief #community00Share

Christine Melville+FollowThis morning, while having breakfast with my mother at one of Kingman, Arizona‘s hidden gems, a gentleman fell on the ground and was having a seizure. He hit his head so hard that it was bleeding profusely and shaking. It was amazing how quickly several onlookers eating breakfast pulled together, including myself, with care and compassion, and quick reaction to the situation. I want to especially thank the three younger men that were absolutely amazing for the care that they provided this man while we’re waiting for the emergency services to arrive. It’s nice to know that there’s still compassion in this world for strangers, bleeding, and incapacitated without a thought to jump right in and assist for those unable to do for themselves in an emergency situation. #Community #FirstAid #GoodSamaritan #SupportFirstResponders #compassion #StrangersHelpingStrangers 265Share
Charles Brown+FollowSt Paul bar faces outrage over comedian’s remarksA St Paul bar is under fire after booking comedian Ben Bankas, whose recent jokes about Renee Good’s tragic death sparked widespread anger. Many locals are calling for a boycott, arguing that mocking someone’s death isn’t just bad taste—it’s dehumanizing. The bar briefly removed Bankas’ shows from its website after backlash, but then quietly put them back up, leaving the community divided on how to respond. Some say protest is the answer, while others believe ignoring the act is more effective. Where do you stand—should businesses be held accountable for who they host, or is it better to let controversy fade? #Entertainment #StPaul #Community00Share
