Cafe Terrace • A Mountain View Cafe with a Rustic Korean-style Brunch
Today, I had a meal planned with my mom at Mountain View, and I suggested we grab some Korean BBQ. However, she objected, claiming it's too fatty. Therefore, I resorted to a quick online search for nearby cafes, discovering this newly opened Korean-style brunch spot in downtown! I was immediately attracted by the ambiance the moment I stepped in, with its combination of rustic wood, green plants, and roses creating a serene and cozy atmosphere that uplifts the mood! The menu was full of surprises, fusing local cuisine with Korean dishes – a unique blend!
Here's what I ordered:
*Bulgogi Omelet, $23! The typical American omelet I'm used to usually consists of cheese, mushrooms, smoked meat, or ham. So, naturally, a Korean-style one had to include Korean grilled beef Bulgogi! It was delicious, with flavorful eggs, tender meat, and fresh vegetables. The portion was also huge, as you can see in picture 11, it's several times bigger than my mom's face [laughs with tears].
*Locomoco, $24! Aside from omelets and sandwiches, they also offer three kinds of main Korean dishes. I was torn between Locomoco and Bulgogi Rice. After asking the waiter, I learned that Locomoco is a meatloaf on rice dish; meanwhile, Bulgogi Rice resembles a stone pot Bibimbap! So, I opted for Locomoco, and I can confidently say I made a wise choice! Their house sauce was fantastic! It tasted like a hybrid of Teriyaki and curry, salty with a slight tingling sensation. Mixing the sauce with rice, meatloaf, and runny egg, made it irresistibly delicious to lick the plate clean!
*Orange Latte, $7! Fruit-flavored coffee isn't common since fruit and coffee aren't a typical pair. It sounds a bit risky! This time I bravely tried the orange coffee, expecting it to contain fresh orange bits. Luckily, it didn't taste overwhelmingly fruity, the primary taste was of subtly bitter coffee, and you can smell a hint of orange as you drink, likely from the added orange blossom syrup!
