why did my cat attack when i tried to wash dishes?

So, I was just doing the dishes, minding my own business, when my cat decided it was time for a sneak attack. Out of nowhere, she jumped onto the counter and started pawing at the water. I guess she thought I was playing with her, not cleaning up! Living with pets means you have to expect the unexpected. I’ve learned to keep treats nearby and always give her a little attention before starting chores. It helps keep her calm and out of trouble.
