My Dog Wanted Freedom, So We Built Him a Fortress
Our dog, Max, has always been a wannabe escape artist. Every time we opened the door, he’d give us that look—like, "Let me taste the wild, please." After one too many Houdini acts (and a few heart attacks on our end), we finally caved. Instead of another leash or lecture, we bought him a giant outdoor playpen. Think doggy Alcatraz, but with more sunshine and fewer guards.
Now, Max spends his days sunbathing, barking at imaginary squirrels, and living his best life—while we watch from the window, sipping coffee and pretending we’re in control. Honestly, he seems happier, and we’re less stressed. Sometimes, giving a little freedom (in a controlled, fenced-in way) is the best compromise. Anyone else have a pet who convinced them to rearrange their entire life?
