🤔 My Husband Wants to Take Our 5-Year-Old to NHRA… Am I Nuts for Thinking It’s Too Early?

So my husband is a lifelong drag racing nut (like wakes up at 6am to watch qualifying replays kinda nut), and he wants to take our 5-year-old son to his first NHRA national event this summer. I love that they bond over cars — our kid already knows what a “blower” is and thinks Top Fuel is the coolest thing ever. But I can’t help worrying… isn’t 5 a bit young for that kind of noise and intensity? I’ve seen videos of people literally flinching from the nitro hits. Adults with tears running down their faces from the sheer violence. How does a little kid handle that? He says we’ll get the best ear protection, maybe even double up with muffs and plugs. Still — part of me wonders if we should wait till he’s a few years older, when he can really appreciate it (and not just be terrified). Am I being overprotective? Would love to hear from other parents who’ve brought young kids. Was it amazing for them… or did they melt down before the second pair even fired up? #NHRA #DragRacing #Parenting #CarFamily

🚀 I Didn’t Love NASCAR — I Loved Chasing the Edge. Now That’s Drag Racing.

Been a NASCAR lifer for most of my days. Sundays meant beer, burgers, and 500 laps of sheer noise. But somewhere along the line… it got tame. Stages broke up the flow. Aero packages neutered the thrill. Engine rules boxed everyone in. It was still racing — just not extreme anymore. Then a buddy dragged me (pun intended) to an NHRA national event last summer. Holy hell. The stands shook. My chest felt like it was gonna implode from the nitro thunder. I realized then: I never actually loved “NASCAR.” I loved the pursuit of the limit, the point where machines almost break trying to go faster. That’s what drag racing is today. Still pushing 11,000 horsepower. Still rewriting the rulebook on physics. No stages, no fake cautions, no coasting to save fuel. Just violent acceleration until it either sticks or explodes. So yeah, NASCAR will always have my heart for nostalgia. But NHRA? That’s where my soul sits now. #NHRA #DragRacing #NASCAR #Goodbye #RealMotorsport

😏 Real Talk: The Force Family Was Always More Funny Car Than Top Fuel

Say what you want, but the Force DNA is Funny Car. John built a literal dynasty out of nitro floppers. Courtney raced Funny Car. Robert Hight’s a Funny Car monster. Even John’s interviews are more chaotic, over-the-top — perfect fit for the class that’s basically a carnival on asphalt. Yeah, Brittany proved they could dominate Top Fuel. But if you close your eyes and picture “John Force Racing”? You see bodies blowing off, massive header flames, and John hopping around on the starting line like he forgot where he parked. Not knocking their Top Fuel at all. Just saying… if racing had Hogwarts houses, Force is 100% housed under Funny Car. Tell me I’m wrong. #NHRA #DragRacing #FunnyCar #JohnForce #HotTake

Why Even If You Hate Them, You Gotta Respect John Force Racing

I know some people get sick of hearing “Force this, Force that.” Maybe they don’t like John’s circus act, the endless interviews, or the fact JFR eats up so much TV time. But here’s the raw truth: You wouldn’t even HAVE the modern NHRA without John Force Racing. In the rough 2000s when sponsorship dollars dried up, John kept bringing them back. His team showed how to work a midway, keep fans buying tickets, and keep sponsors on the cars. He didn’t just pad his own stats — he carried the whole damn show. Look at Brittany. Look at how many young drivers JFR gave shots to. Look at the families in the pits wearing Force shirts generation after generation. You don’t have to like them. Hell, you can root against them every final round. But if you love drag racing at all? You owe them a debt of respect. #NHRA #DragRacing #JohnForce #Legacy #RealTalk

🔥 My Personal Mount Rushmore of Drag Racing Legends

Alright — since y’all were so fired up about my Top Fuel ops list, figured I’d go big picture. Here’s who’s on my personal drag racing Mount Rushmore (not just Top Fuel, all-time, all classes): 1️⃣ John Force No question. 16x Funny Car champ, larger-than-life personality, basically carried the sport on his back through lean years. 2️⃣ Don “The Snake” Prudhomme Transcended NHRA into pop culture. Legendary match races, crazy rivalries with The Mongoose — without him we might not even have the same sport today. 3️⃣ Big Daddy Don Garlits The innovator. Changed the game forever with the rear-engine dragster. Every car on the grid owes him. 4️⃣ Shirley Muldowney Paved the way for every female driver — not just in drag racing, but in motorsports. Took hell from old-school guys and STILL won three Top Fuel titles. Yeah, I left off a million deserving names (Bernstein, WJ, Coughlin, Kalitta Sr.), but that’s what makes these debates fun. Who’s your four? #NHRA #DragRacing #Legends #MountRushmore #History

😂 Okay Okay, Where’s John Force Racing in My Top 5?

Alright, you guys showed up in droves to call me out for not putting JFR on my “Top 5 Top Fuel teams” list. Fair enough — I get it. I’ll say it loud: John Force Racing is arguably the biggest name in drag racing, period. John’s a legend. Brittany is a championship Top Fuel driver. Austin Prock’s no slouch either. Their marketing, fan base, longevity — it’s off the charts. But here’s why they didn’t crack my Top Fuel operational list: Their bread and butter is still Funny Car. JFR is synonymous with Funny Car dominance. Top Fuel was almost an add-on that got huge because Brittany nailed it. Pure Top Fuel focus? I just give the edge to Capco, ABM, Kalitta, TSR, and the Schumacher legacy because that’s their life. Force built his empire around Funny Car first. Trust me, there’s no drag racing without John Force Racing. And if you did a list of “Most Important Teams in NHRA History,” they’re #1 by a mile. Just means we get to argue more, and that’s half the fun of being fans. So keep throwing your lists at me. 🍻 #NHRA #DragRacing #TopFuel #JohnForceRacing #StillLegends
