Thomas Woods+FollowOur EV charger almost burnt down the house. It was a dangerous 'Fix'We woke up last night because the alarm on our electric car was going off. When we checked the garage, the charger box was so hot you could not even touch it. We had to wait almost an hour just to look at the damage. It was seriously scary. We have had the EV for about six months. Right after the first electrician installed the charger, the fuse kept blowing. He came back out and told us he solved it by putting in a higher-amp fuse. He promised we would be fine and that was four months ago. We are absolutely calling a different electrician to fix this entire mess. But I'm still really hoping someone here knows electrical safety. I need to know if the first guy steered us completely wrong by just raising the fuse amperage, or if something else entirely went sideways here. #EVCharging #ElectricianFail #HomeSafety #ElectricalSafety #ElectricVehicles #NeedAdvice 134Share
