Mission Peak: Ohlone’s Climb
Climb Mission Peak (2,517ft) from Ohlone College—East Bay’s popular peak, but this 8-mile round-trip (or shorter 5.2-mile option) is a gentler path for all. Start at Ohlone’s Mission Blvd parking lot (plenty of spots!), follow Peak Trail’s shaded, winding climb. Soak in views of the Diablos, SF Bay, and wildlife: deer, coyotes, eagles, vultures. Best in spring (green hills, wildflowers), winter (snow-capped peaks), or sunset summer hikes. Bikes not allowed—pack water, enjoy the ease.
