Is my dad's behavior mormal?
I’m 19, from a South Asian family, and in my final year of high school. Lately, my dad’s behavior has me worried. He’s overly obsessed with knowing who I meet and how I dress. If I dress up a bit, he gets furious, even though no one else in my family minds.
He’s emotionally dependent on me, often standing by my bed while I sleep and leaving quickly if I move. He’s furious at the thought of me having a boyfriend, even slapping me once. He controls my life—shopping, activities, and even calls me to come home immediately after two hours at the library.
He joins us when I’m with friends, causing friendships to break apart. Am I overreacting, or does he have issues? Please help!
