Christian Russo+FollowMarine Mammal Center: It's great to help the marine life up and down the coastIt is incredible important to see what can achieved by all volunteers. Their job is very important for saving species and learning everything what is going on in the ocean. The guides can tell you everything about the animals and the bigger picture of the research. We visited the site several times and every time it’s a great experience! To those who are not familiar with the Marine Mammal Center, it is a place where rescued or abandoned sick and injured marine mammals are nursed back to health and released back to the ocean. They have audio tours as well as guided tours every day. Extremely interesting and educational for kids. The exhibits and the tour raise the kids’ awareness of environmental as well as man made challenges facing marine mammals. Their facilities are very impressive, state of the art( or rather technology). For example, the water in the individual pools in the pans is filtered, sanitized and recirculated every 35 minutes to prevent cross contamination and keep the injured or sick animals healthy. It is a non profit organization. Join the Marine Mammal Center and make a difference for our marine friends! 🐬🌊 #MarineMammalCenter #Conservation #MarineLife #RescueAndRehabilitation #OceanHealth #EnvironmentalImpact #EducateAndInspire #SupportWildlife #SaveMarineMammals130Share
Melvin Mosley+FollowAral Sea's Big Secret 😮So, the Aral Sea, once a massive lake, has an exposed mantle thanks to water loss from way back in the '60s. It's like Earth's skin is still stretching from when water was diverted for agriculture! This "quiet Chernobyl" is causing the ground to bulge even now. Imagine a desert with ships stuck in the sand! The land's lifting about 0.3 inches yearly. Crazy, right? It just shows how big our impact is on Earth. Thoughts? #EarthChange #AralSeaMystery #EnvironmentalImpact #Science100Share
Jacqueline Ray+FollowAnxiety Meds Make Fish Bolder?!Turns out, anti-anxiety meds like clobazam don’t just chill out humans—they’re making salmon braver too! Scientists found that salmon exposed to these drugs swam faster, took more risks, and even zipped through hydropower dams. But here’s the catch: being bolder means they’re also more likely to get eaten. All this because our leftover meds end up in rivers, creating a druggy soup for fish. Wild, right? Pollution is changing animal behavior in ways we never expected! #ScienceNews #PharmaceuticalPollution #Wildlife #EnvironmentalImpact #WatercoolerMoment #Health81Share

What’s crazy? It raises big questions for us humans too, since microplastics are in our bodies as well. Is this modern pollution getting too close for comfort? Something to think about next time you grab that plastic bottle. Let’s talk! #Microplastics #EnvironmentalImpact #HealthConcerns #Pets301Share

Industrial activities are damaging local wetlands, threatening a vital part of the local diet and potentially driving up food prices. With some areas losing a third of these crucial wetlands, experts warn these fish might not be around for much longer. 🌍🐟 #FoodCrisis #EnvironmentalImpact #SaveOurRivers110Share
Dr. Ryan Newton+FollowAir Pollution's Impact on NewbornsNew research highlights a crucial issue: air pollution is affecting newborn health. A study found that exposure to pollutants like NO₂ during late pregnancy increases the risk of NICU admissions. This underscores the need for stronger air quality initiatives. It's time to raise awareness and take action for cleaner air and healthier babies. 🌍👶 #AirQuality #NewbornHealth #EnvironmentalImpact #Health90Share
