Thomas Woods+FollowShould I Pay For Half Of My Neighbor's Fence Staining Cost?My neighbor is a pain to deal with and has been talking smack about us on the neighborhood Facebook page. We have not been approached directly about this issue but she is now alleging we owe her half the cost of some fence repairs and staining. She says she and the previous owners agreed to a half and half split of maintaining it. Nothing of this sort was discussed with us at closing. For context the fence is two sided for most of their front yard. The only part of the fence that is on our side is our two gates. Once their back yard starts the fence becomes a shared fence separating our backyards. We have not seen any repairs on the fence in the three years we have lived here. I just came from a mall or a public space and I am so sick of cleaning up after grown adults. I get it if a kid drops a snack or something but this is different. This is a grown person making a conscious choice to be lazy and disgusting.
