I Thought My Face Was Just… Flat

For years, I couldn’t figure out why makeup never looked right on me. Blush, contour, highlighter—none of it “lifted” anything. It all sat… flat. Then it clicked: I don’t have natural midface projection. No cheekbone light shelf, no depth to shape. I wasn’t doing it wrong—I was following the wrong face. So I made my own rules. Matte highlighter beside the nose, where light never hits. Blush—not in circles—but a soft strip under the eye socket, like a quiet shadow. Contour swept diagonally under the outer cheekbone—nothing harsh. And a C-shaped glint on the philtrum, because even flat faces deserve glow. It’s not “corrective.” It’s constructive. I’m not faking someone else’s structure. I’m giving dimension to my own. #beauty #makeup #faceshape
