Oops, My Second Cousin Works Here Too?!
So, picture this: I land a new job, fill out all the paperwork, and totally forget that my second cousin works at the same company. We're not close—honestly, I barely remember his last name, and we haven't talked in ages. When I applied, I checked 'no' for family members working here because, well, he just slipped my mind.
Fast forward to orientation day, and there he is! I casually mention to HR that my cousin works here, but I didn't explain that he's a second cousin or that I forgot to list him. Now I'm overthinking—should I call HR and clarify? What if they think I lied? We're not even in the same department, so does it really matter? Sometimes I feel like I'm making mountains out of molehills. 😅
