That Time I Panicked Over Bananas: A First-Time Mom’s Lesson

As a new mom to a sweet 6-month-old, I thought I was prepared for anything—until today. My usually chill little guy had one eye covered in yellow, crusty flakes. My mind immediately jumped to the worst: pink eye! I rushed to call the pediatrician and got us in right away. When we arrived, the doctor calmly examined him and asked, “Did he have something yellow for lunch?” Turns out, my son had smeared banana all over his face and into his eye. A quick wipe with a damp cloth, and he was back to normal. I couldn’t help but laugh (and feel a little silly). Parenting is full of surprises!
