Found 6lb bass in a tiny creek nobody fishes!

Last weekend I parked at this random bridge and kayaked down into a narrow creek that connects to our local lake. Most guys would drive right past this thing - it's maybe 10 feet wide and looks like nothing. But I've learned that if the main water has big bass, they'll move up into these feeders looking for cooler water and cover. Sure enough, tucked under some exposed roots in 2 feet of water was this absolute tank! My creek fishing secrets: 1️⃣ Pick creeks connected to big-bass lakes or rivers. 2️⃣ Watch for healthy water with baitfish, flow, or cooler temps. 3️⃣ Go light: weightless plastics, finesse jigs, or small topwaters. 4️⃣ Target cut banks, root tangles, and current seams. It’s more work than big water, but when that lunker explodes in a shallow creek, it’s unforgettable. #fishing #creekfishing #bassfishing #smallwater #fishingtips

These "weird" baits are absolute fish magnets

Last summer I was getting outfished by this old timer using something I'd never seen before - hellgrammites. While I'm throwing the same old shiners, this guy's pulling bass after bass with these gnarly bug-looking things. Turns out there's a whole world of "sleeper" baits most of us ignore: crayfish, crickets, sand fleas, even small bluegills. The fish see these natural foods every day but rarely with hooks attached. But here's the kicker - not all of them are legal everywhere. In some states, using bluegills as bait is a no-go, even if you can keep them to eat. And transporting bait from one lake to another can get you fined. Now, I always double-check local rules before I gather or use anything. What’s the most unusual bait you’ve ever tried? #fishing #livebait #crayfish #fishingtips #bassfishing #fishingbait

How I went from quitting to catching fish

Used to get so frustrated I'd quit fishing for months, sometimes years. Finally figured out what was holding me back. Location matters more than gear. Stop casting randomly into open water. Look for current, structure, downed trees - think like a fish. Where would YOU hang out if you needed shelter and food? Keep it simple. I have tackle boxes full of crap I never use. Found my confidence by mastering one lure: the rooster tail spinner. Cast and retrieve until you find fish. If spinners aren't catching something, find a new spot. Don't get overwhelmed by all the techniques and gadgets. Master the basics first, catch some fish, build confidence. The fancy stuff can wait. If fishing was easy, we'd call it catching. #fishing #beginnertips #spinnerbaits #fishingtips
