Tried Beignets for the First Time—Regret Nothing
I finally caved and tried a beignet. Not in a cute Parisian café, but at a food truck parked next to a laundromat. Expectations? Low. Reality? Powdered sugar everywhere, sticky fingers, and a sudden, irrational belief that I could eat six more without consequence.
Biting into that warm, fluffy dough was like a hug from someone who actually gets you. For a second, I forgot about my laundry tumbling around and just existed in a cloud of sweet, fried happiness.
Of course, I immediately dropped half of it on my shirt, but honestly, worth it. Is this what self-care feels like? If so, sign me up for a dozen.
Moral of the story: Sometimes, the best comfort food is the one you least expect, and sometimes, it’s okay to walk around with powdered sugar on your face. (Just maybe check a mirror first.)
