Scents I Let Stay

I didn’t set out to collect full-size bottles this year—but some scents just insisted on staying. 🌲 Diptyque Duelle — Resin, vanilla, a smoky softness that clings to winter coats. It smells like warmth in a cold, empty room. 🌿 Givenchy Irresistible Eau Fraîche — Clear, green, like a fig snapped straight from the branch. A creamy fig, almost edible, but never sticky. 🌹 Givenchy L’Interdit Rose — My first ever big bottle. A beauty counter sample that haunted me for weeks. Green rose, a little wild. Reminds me of Penhaligon’s Luna, but moodier, less citrus—more secrets. 🍬 MFK Baccarat Rouge 540 — The famous one. Sweet but strange, like burnt sugar and frozen lychee. I can’t smell it on myself anymore, but I still spray it on my pillow. Sometimes I catch it in the middle of the night, and it feels like luck. #beauty #fragrance #ScentMemory

My Pillow Perfumes: So Good, I Sleep Like a Baby

Since summer started, I’ve barely had a single sleepless night—and I’m giving full credit to the scents on my pillow. These two “skin-but-better” bedtime perfumes? They knock me out and make me feel like the softest version of myself. — 🧖 JOURNAL – Galanga This one’s my go-to on sticky, humid nights. The galangal (South Asian ginger) isn’t sharp, but lingers just enough to slice through the heat. Imagine: a clean, just-showered beauty wrapped in linen. That’s what this smells like. The floral-soap undertone + soft spice = comfort in a bottle. I wear it day and night. — 🌙 SMN – Muschio Oro (Golden Musk) My long-time love. A musk that smells like skin, but better—warm, golden, quietly sexy. It’s subtle enough to feel like it’s yours, not your perfume’s. Also… if you believe in a little fragrance astrology: this one’s for gold-lovers, Earth/Water signs, and people manifesting love or career wins. (Don’t ask me why. Just trust.) #beauty #fragrance #softnightmagic

My Summer Smells Like Citrus and Soap

Summer, to me, always smells like citrus. Not one perfect perfume—just fragments that stick to different parts of my day. 🍋 Goutal’s Chevrefeuille (out of stock again): like honeysuckle water, the kind you’d bathe in if you were a flower. 🫧 Acqua di Parma Colonia: straight-up lemon bar soap. Clean, nostalgic, like a hug from a hotel towel. 🧡 Hermès Eau d’Orange Verte: on my second bottle. Orange peel, lemon zest, dried tangerine. My personal catnip. 🍓 Hermès Eau de Rhubarbe Écarlate: sweet-tart berries with a green twist. Fades into a scent that reminds me—strangely—of green bottle Pantene. 🍹 Etat Libre d’Orange You or Someone Like You: mojito on the first spray, celery on the next. Weird, refreshing, unforgettable. None of them match. But together, they’ve made my summer make sense. What’s your go-to summer scent—even if it makes no sense on paper? #beauty #fragrance #scentslikeme

My Summer Smells Like Citrus and Soap

What perfume do I wear most? Depends on the day, honestly.

Weekdays it’s usually Davidoff Cool Water Men. Safe, fresh, no drama. I’ve worn it for years — smells like “let’s just get through the day.” Weekends I switch to YSL Opium. No one ever says it smells good. I love that. I hate the whole “boy-magnet perfume” thing anyway. Why should I smell like someone else’s idea of cute? Once, in Melbourne by the ocean, I wore D&G Light Blue and felt like the color pale blue. Wind in my hair, sunscreen half rubbed in, perfect. TF Black Orchid is my going-out scent now — with Cherry Lush lipstick. That combo makes me feel a little dangerous. And sometimes, it’s just Chanel Bleu, sprayed on a winter coat. Something about men’s cologne in cold weather feels… grounding. I guess I do like masculine scents more. Always have. #beauty #fragrance #smellslikehome

My Workday Scents: No Loud Notes, Just Presence

These are the perfumes I reach for when I want to be remembered softly—at the office, in a meeting, or on the train home. Scents that stay close, never too loud, but always there. 1. Chanel No. 5 (Eau de Toilette) She’s not “trendy,” but she’s timeless. A clean, powdered elegance—more like the memory of soap than a floral bomb. People say it smells like grandma’s cologne or floral water, but worn close to skin, it becomes quiet confidence. Short sillage, but haunting. 2. Le Labo – Another 13 Like a freshly washed T-shirt worn just out of the sun. Warm, clean, synthetic in a good way. People don’t smell “perfume” on you—they just ask, “What is that?” Great for structured blazers and coffee in glass offices. I even bought the matching lotion. Lifelong repurchase. 3. Chanel – Paris–Venise The underdog of the Chanel Les Eaux line—and my favorite. I stumbled across it in Hong Kong, and it stuck. A floral scent I actually love: iris, pink pepper, musk. Sweet, but with a backbone. I often layer it with No. 5 in summer. Feels crisp, clean, and composed. 4. Aesop – Karst Summer on a Wednesday. Not your typical “serious” office scent, but it lifts the weight of the week. Mossy, green, a little like sun-dried leaves. Perfect with a white T-shirt and a to-do list. 5. Jo Malone – Silver Birch & Lavender A quiet storm. Smoky, herbal, oddly intimate. Smells like burying your nose in a wool scarf in the dead of winter. Heavy enough for overcoats, soft enough for a long commute. Masculine-leaning, but tender. Underrated and grounding. #beauty #fragrance #OfficeApprovedScents
