Confirmed: Mexico will build a passenger train

🚆 Confirmed: Mexico will build a passenger train to the U.S. border Starting this July, construction will begin on a new railway line connecting Mexico City to Nuevo Laredo, as part of the national Plan México. The train will span over 3,000 kilometers, passing through key states like Hidalgo, State of Mexico, Querétaro, Guanajuato, San Luis Potosí, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas. This passenger rail system will use dedicated tracks, separate from freight lines, and reach speeds of up to 200 km/h. The AIFA–Pachuca route will be electric, while others like Mexico–Querétaro, Querétaro–Irapuato, and Saltillo–Nuevo Laredo will use diesel-electric propulsion. Construction is already underway on the Mexico–Pachuca and Mexico–Querétaro sections. Bidding for the remaining routes starts in June, with the entire system expected to be completed between 2027 and 2028. The goal is to boost mobility in densely populated and industrial regions such as the Bajío and northern Mexico, improving travel and trade flow to and from the U.S. border. #PassengerTrain #MexicoTrain #MexicoToUSA #BorderTrain #InfrastructureMexico #HighSpeedRail #FutureOfTransport #MexicoNews #PlanMexico #TrainsInMexico #SustainableMobility
