Mario Kart World Just Got its Biggest Update Yet — Version 1.2.0 Is Live!
Ready for the patch everyone’s talking about? Mario Kart World’s 1.2.0 update, released on July 29, 2025, brings the biggest changes since launch—and fans seem pretty happy. Here’s what’s new:
VS Race rebalanced: traditional three-lap tracks now appear more often, especially for online and wireless play.
AI nerf: CPUs are weaker in most modes except Battle Mode, making Grand Prix and Knockout Tour more manageable.
New rules and features: “No COM” and “Mushrooms only” item restrictions in VS Race, the ability to view replays after downloading ghost data in Time Trials, improved spectator controls in online play, and Free Roam collectibles now change color once everything is collected.
Item and track logic tweaks: reduced Boomerang homing, adjusted item probabilities, and fixed various bugs like players getting stuck or race order errors.
This update really listens to player feedback—bringing back more classic lap races and taming the chaotic AI. Are you excited to jump back into the race?
