Camariya Tidwell was only 19 years old. Nineteen. And now her mother has to live with a pain no mother should ever be forced to carry. On May 16, 2026, Camariya was shot and killed outside her family’s home in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Police say she was not even the intended target. The man accused of killing her, Sean Xavier Hubbard, had allegedly fired into the same home earlier that day before returning later that night. He is now charged with murder. And I’m sorry, but this is the kind of story that makes me sick. Because what sense does this make? Somebody gets mad, grabs a gun, comes back to a family’s home, and now a 19-year-old girl is dead. A daughter is gone. A family is shattered. And everybody else is left trying to explain the unexplainable. I lost my son to violence, so stories like this hit different. I know what it feels like when the world keeps moving, but your whole life has been split in half. I know what it feels like to look at a headline and think…that was somebody’s baby. Camariya was somebody’s baby. Her mother described her as bright, innocent, and having a future ahead of her. That is what was stolen. Not just a life, but every birthday she will not see. Every laugh her family will miss. Every dream she had that will never get the chance to grow. And let’s tell the truth. This is some bullshit. There is no softer way to say it. We keep watching young people get taken over anger, ego, guns, and people who do not know how to walk away. One reckless decision becomes a lifetime sentence for a family that did not ask for any of this. Camariya Tidwell should still be here. Her mother should not be planning how to live without her. Her family should not have to beg for justice. She was 19. She was loved. She mattered. And her name deserves to be remembered with care. #CamariyaTidwell #RockHillSC #GoneTooSoon #JusticeForCamariya
