Rare portraits of Hawaiian wāhine from the 1800s are now just a click away, thanks to the Hawaiʻi State Archives’ massive digitization project. It’s incredible to think we can now explore these powerful images and thousands more from home—photos that once sat in boxes are now part of our daily conversations about identity and heritage. The archives are also working on making over 20,000 pieces of Hawaiian music and 22,000 glass plate negatives available to everyone.
