How I Overcame 3.5 Years of Driving Anxiety—My Real Road Back

Hey guys. Kinda random to find this community after mostly beating my driving anxiety, but I wanted to share my journey in hopes it helps someone else. Just a few months ago, a single-lane mountain road would've sent me into a panic attack. Today, I handled 20 miles with only a few seconds of nerves before I centered myself and enjoyed the ride. What worked for me? Small steps, music that calms me, snacks on hand, and being kind to myself. I learned to listen to my body, slow down when my heart raced, and use Google Maps to preview tough routes. Most importantly, I stopped judging my progress and started celebrating every win, no matter how small. If you’ve battled driving anxiety, what’s helped you? Stuck in the Cycle: Lazy or Just Lost?

By my title, I don’t mean to imply that I have depression, or that I think I have depression. I simply meant that my state of mind is often depressed. The same way how you can be anxious, just because you’re a human, but you don’t necessarily have an anxiety disorder. Some days, I feel like I’m trapped in a loop—too tired to move, too restless to rest. I’ve got the routines down: my space is clean, I hydrate, I exercise. But inside, I’m still drifting. I regret my choices, my job, my lost hobbies. I want to change, but the weight of it all keeps me in bed, scrolling and sulking. How do you break out of this? What helped you move forward when you felt stuck? Drop your thoughts or share your own story below. Let’s help each other out. 💬 #spiritualgrowth #healingjourney #selfreflection #Spirituality
