Save Azul ! Foster and Rescue! To be Euthanized!
Azul is just 1.5 years old and 41.6 lbs. She was found alone on 7/12 and taken in by a kind stranger for a day. In that short time, she showed her sweet side: she took treats gently, allowed chin pets, was easily leashed, and walked to the car with hesitation but no fear-based aggression. She was calm in a crate, quiet, and not destructive.
But once at the shelter, everything changed. Azul was so terrified that they used a catch pole/snare and she has struggled with fear and avoidance ever since. Her evaluations show a dog who’s overwhelmed — she’s tense, cautious, unsure how to trust. Because of this, Azul has been labeled “rescue only” and has a hard deadline of 7/27.
💔 Azul can feel the love from volunteers who stop at her kennel door. And volunteers — the ones who always try to win the trust of fearful dogs — see a spark of hope still in her. She leans in for gentle pets, even when afraid. She’s treat-motivated, knows “sit,” and clearly wants to believe in someone again. She just needs time, patience, and a quiet place to decompress
