Watching Jimmie nail those late-race restarts, or Jeff throw down a slick crossover move in turn 3, was pure magic. Back then, Hendrick Motorsports felt untouchable. The roar when Jeff’s rainbow car dove under the line at Darlington, or when Jimmie pulled off a two-tire stop that somehow held up for 30 laps — that was strategy you could feel in your bones. Now, it’s all data-driven fuel maps and engineers tweaking on laptops. Sure, the cars are closer in spec, but where’s the flair? I miss seeing Jeff with that fire in his eyes, or Jimmie doing smoky burnouts after yet another win.
